Blogger Recognition Award

Yay! Today I got awarded the Blogger Recognition Award by the FAABULOUS Miss Adaline over at AG in the Shire.

*skips away singing Taylor Swift and various selections from Broadway*

Okay, I'm back.

Anyway, the point of this ward is really cool: to take it, you have to nominate fifteen blogs that deserve the ward. That way everyone really gets acknowledged.

Here are the official guidelines from headquarters (aka Edge of Night)

  •        Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you've nominated in the post.
    ·         Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image).
    ·         Comment on each blog and let them know you've nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
    ·         Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing! (It happens LOL).

Now. My blog.

*ahem*

Once upon a time there was an seven year old girl. That girl knew what her big present was going to be for her eighth birthday - an American Girl doll. Her grandma had told her about it and prepped her for this responsibility for years. The girl picked out a name for the future doll - Lilly. With TWO L's. It had to start with the same letter as her name, of course. Finally, the birthday arrived. The whole family went to Olive Garden after the girl's baptism, and she opened presents. Except a few packages that everyone said she couldn't open yet. Finally, she got to the big present: a long rectangular box. Her doll. Then she was allowed to open the other presents, which contained clothes and shoes for the doll.

I loved that doll tons over the next year. She had her own bed and little living space. She was my favorite. I kind of lost interest in her, though, until InnerStar U came out. This doll didn't have a code (trust me, I checked.)  Then I cut my hair really short. What better excuse to get a new doll was there?! I had to wait until my 12th birthday, but Lexi was inducted into the family.

Now comes the true doll hiatus. I had forgotten Lexi's InnerStar U password. I never really played with any of my dolls. I don't think I changed Lexi out of her meet outfit until a few months after I got her.

Then my sister got her first doll. Suddenly, playing with dolls was super fun! We bought a few outfits for them from AG, and I made little crafts for them with help from Doll Diaries. Then, in February of this year, I discovered the doll blogging world. I think I was Googling craft ideas or something, and AG Doll Play came up. Woah! I read every post, and then searched up more doll blogs. Fun with AG Fan came up, but what was interesting about it was that it was written by a girl my age! Who knew?

And from that point on, I wanted a blog. I asked my parents once or twice, and finally, after two months or so, they let me have my own little corner of the Internet. It was March 20 or 21. I can't remember. I know, I'm a great blogger. Anyway, here I am today!

OK, now my two tips:

PLEASE WRITE WELL. I'm not saying you have to be some award winning author. But use correct grammar. And try to not reuse the same word twice really close to each other. That just sounds cliche and boring. Yeah, while we're at it, don't use cliches. And capitalize your blog name properly. Sorry, those are just huge pet peeves of mine.

Numero dos: Make your FONT and FONT COLOR readable. It annoys me to no end when I have to highlight something in order to read it.

Thank you for reading this far, lovely people!

And now, ladies and gents, for our nominees:

Oh yeaaah, and here's the award:
