BEAUTY WEEK: Our Generation Hair Salon Set Review

Hi everyone! Today I will be doing a review of the Our Generation hair salon set that was in yesterday's post. I don't want to take actual pictures of my set, so I will use the one on target.com.

So much stuff! This set was $23.29, which I think is a pretty good deal for what you get.

Let's start with the cart itself: It's pretty cute and stands upright easily. All the drawers except for the bottom one slide out. My only problem is that the 'lid' on the top drawer (which doesn't slide out either) doesn't clamp down.

The hair clips and hair ties are nice. A little on the cheap side, but good to have.

The curlers. AGGH. SO BAD. They fell apart after exactly one try in Lilly's hair.

The perm rods are slightly stronger but I never use them.

The bottles of shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, and 'hair gloss' are all really cute. They fit perfectly in the doll's hand! They have the English name on one side of the bottle, and on the other side, the name is written in French. Same with the tubes of hair dye. (I think the hair dye is a little weird because....um hello dolls don't dye their hair.)

The silver and purple bottles are cute, they're really good for general 'hair products.' I don't really know what to use the green and white bottle of soap for. Also, the spout fell off mine after like two days.

The brush and comb are really cheap. Just buy yourself a good wire brush people.

The mirror. SO FABULOUS! I love it. It's the perfect size for the doll's hand...the pink shade is so CUTE. Probably my favorite piece in the set!

The scissors are really nice. I approve.

The hair dryer--BLECH. That is horrible. So plasticky and just bad.

The hair straightener and curling iron are really cute! I love 'em.

The towel is pretty generic. It's a towel. A good towel. No further comment.

The apron thingy I like. It's easy to put things in the pockets and can serve multiple uses. (We use it for a waitress apron thingy too.) The cape--NO. MINE DID NOT COME WITH BOTH SIDES OF VELRO. I HAVE TO USE SCOTCH TAPE TO KEEP IT ON. NOT OKAY.

Whew.

Well, I think this is a pretty good set for the price you pay. I'm happy I got it, and if you see it at Target you should definitely get it (mine was the last one there).
