ARE YOU KIDDING ME

Sooooooo

I was looking at my Blogger feed when I saw this:

IT'S OFFICIAL.

THEY'RE RETIRING.

I mean we knew it was happening but...................

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The best friends were the COOLEST parts of books for me. Not only could you get Julie, but you could get Ivy, her super-fun best friend who actually plays a key role in the books. Or whoever it may be. Not some candy-making set that doesn't have any mentions or importance in the stories. The best friends MEANT something. They made the books more REAL. And now they're going to be gone. Flippin AG.

As for the NOLA girls......
Their books were a creative idea.
And confusing.
But they were good.
These girlies were part of a really interesting time period. I wish AG had done a better job with them. They seriously had so much potential. But the little things that made them bad sellers: Marie-Grace's crazy crimpy braids. The yes, slightly confusing layout of the books. The mediocre sets (they took music lessons! how cool would that set have been?! instead we can buy Cecile's parrot. wonderful.) And that whole plasticky fairy sparkly glitzy masquerade shenanigans that had a teeny tiny role in the books was WAAAAAAAAAY overdone. So yes. They are super duper special and deserve tons of love cause that was a fail with AG. At least they're being put out of their misery.

Yargh. If I was the person with the power at AG I would have:
not retired the best friends
revamped the NOLA sets into something relevant
and given all the girls a new look with BeForever.
(and given the friend-less girls friends. they've got 'em in their books, go look.)

I don't like this.

Ugh.

And on that happy note I leave you.

  1. I didn't really like MG and Cecile, but I loved Ruthie and Ivy, I will miss them THIS MUCH. Actually, more than that.

  2. I'm mad at AG for retiring them! Does that mean they are trying to say that you shouldn't have a best friend????? (Lol)

  3. I couldn't agree with you more. I was hoping that they would at least wait until December 31st to retire them (Like they do with the rest of the dolls).... but seriously? This fall? That's really soon! I really wanted to get Ruthie and Ivy before they retired, but now, I can't. Thanks a lot, AG.

    1. New Orleans Louisiana; it's the nickname for Marie-Grace and Cecile since they live there. It's a heck of a lot easier to type NOLA than their full names.

Don't cuss. It's not ladylike.
