Updates and Such

Guys. MARCHING BAND STILL ISN'T OVER.
Our football team made playoffs, so guess who has to go play and march at every game??
uuuuuuuuuugh.

Also, I don't see myself updating this blog anytime soon. I don't have enough time to take pictures with daylight savings, and it's only going to get worse from there. I WILL most likely be posting on my personal blog, Not Princess Leia, though, so don't be too sad. Anyway, it looks like this will be goodbye for the next couple months.

Have a great holiday season! I love you!

Unofficially Official

Yes. I am a terrible person.
I have not bogged here in ages.

The thing is, though, is that I wanted to. I didn't have the time, camera, or inspiration. But as I was gone, I realized how much I love this, and how fun it is for me.

I miss it so much.

I finally got a memory card for my camera, and I've got a couple ideas. Now it's just a matter of me finding some time to shoot stuff. Marching band takes up SO MUCH TIME guys. I know it's all I talk about, but that's cause it's what 95% of my life is right now.

Anyway, I love you all, I'm going to start reading and commenting on your posts again, and I'm planning on posting here as soon as I can. Who knows when that will be, but IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

I guess you could think of this as my unofficial official return to blogging.

LOVE YOU GUYS MUCHO GRANDE

The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Blogger

So.

Here I am.

I am the worst doll blogger on the face of the earth.

But before I make chipper, cheery promises about posting again, I want to say something.

I wasn't posting because I didn't have time. Sure, I had time. I even took photos once or twice, but it would always end in me dropping a doll on the ground in frustration and cursing myself for not being as creative as I should be. There was nothing that I really wanted do with my dolls, either. I was perfectly content to leave them in their same hairstyles, outfits, and position for two months.

I had no inspiration and no confidence.

And tbh, I still don't.

But I still love you guys, and I'm still here. I'm on vacation right now, but I'll do my best to think of some stuff to do when I get back. I might just have to take a long break. Who knows. We'll see.

Just remember me until I come back, so that I'll have something to come back to.

Thank you, and goodnight.

Family Thoughts #2: Brittany

Ali: Brittany  and I are completely different. I could spend all day reading and forget to eat, and she could spend all day outside and forget to eat.
Lexi: I think she's like an animal whisperer or something. Mosquitoes don't even bite her.
Brittany: It's called bug spray, Lexi.
Lexi: well we need new bug spray because I use it too and I still get bitten.

Lilly: Brittany doesn't beat around the bush. If she doesn't like something, she'll tell you.
Ali: Like the other day when she said she didn't like my eyeliner.
Lexi: To be fair, it was pretty smudged.
Ali: No it wasn't!
Lilly and Brittany: YES IT WAS

Lexi: Even though she doesn't cook a lot, Brittany is a really good chef.
Ali: THAT'S REALLY TRUE LIKE GUYS HER SPAGHETTI IS AMAZING
Brittany: People it's not like I hand roll it or anything.
Lexi: YEAH BUT YOU ADD CHEESE

Lilly: HEY WOW that's a throwback!
Ali: I don't remember that picture. Is Brittany wearing...pink? And bows?
Lexi: It was from before you came. And -
Brittany: TAKE IT DOWN RIGHT NOW I DEMAND

Lilly: Brittany hates reading, It's a travesty.
Brittany: I don't hate reading, I'd just rather go and have adventures instead of reading about them.
Ali: You want to be thrown into an arena with twenty-three other people that are trying to kill you?
Brittany: Point taken.

Ali: Since I didn't really know anyone before we started filming Runaway Princess, Brittany kind of took me under her wing. She was the first person I really got to know.
Lexi: Also she called like every wild animal to you when we shot the forest stuff.
Ali: It really is creepy how good she is with animals.

Lilly: Brittany adds a lot to our family and none of us know what we would do without her.
Lexi: GROUP HUG!
Brittany: (Ouch) see you next week for the (OOF) next edition of (hey!) - Family Thoughts!

Family Thoughts #1: Ali

**this series is one hundred percent inspired by adi so go follow her lovely self if you haven't yet**

So, as I've been reading through my blog lately, I realized that you really don't have much of an insight into the girls' personal life. And for me, that's a huge part of the fun of this community. I just love it.

So every Monday (mostly) there will be a new Family Thoughts, with everybody's opinions on current events, favorites, and of course, family members.
Since Ali is the youngest, I decided we'd start with her.

brace yourselves.

~

Lexi: Ali's super cool. She actually likes to go shopping with me...unlike SOME people I know.

Brittany: Well it's not my fault that dragging myself through Forever 21 looking for knee socks isn't fun.

Ali: Um, except that it is fun! Searching for something is like half the excitement of shopping. Also you find a lot of neat stuff while you're looking.

Lexi: Thank you, Allison.
*high five*

Lilly: Ali is an amazing person to geek out with. She makes me hot cocoa sometimes when I'm reading and the feels are JUST TOO FREAKING MUCH.

Ali: Chocolate helps everything.

Lexi; THIS IS WHY WE'RE FRIENDS

Brittany: Ali was a really fun person to shoot The Runaway Princess with. She was always super positive about all her crazy hairstyles and costumes.
She was even down with getting dirt rubbed all over her face.

Lilly: That was a weird episode.

Lexi: Yeah, I didn't envy Ali one bit when she got ready to shoot that one.

Ali: Wasn't that hard to act exhausted though cause we woke up at eight to shoot it and I stayed up till like three watching Aspen Heights.

Lexi: Hashtag Ali's fangirl life.

Ali: Like you've never stayed up late watching YouTube videos.

Lexi: No comment.

Lilly: Ali has amazing hair. It's SO shiny.

Ali: She never leaves me alone trying to style it.

Lilly: YOU WERE MEANT FOR MORE THAN PONYTAILS I'M TELLING YOU

Brittany: One thing about Ali is that she's an amazing friend. Like if you text her at eleven pm after a horrible day she will get you from your bedroom and take you to Taco Bell.

Lexi: Also she volunteers to beat people up for you which is really sweet but in reality she couldn't hurt a fly.

Ali: It's true.

Lilly: She texts back so fast it's unreal. No human being has their phone on them that much of the time.

Ali: I DO OKAY QUIT JUDGING ME

Lexi: Ali's EXTREMELY photogenic. She literally never looks bad.

Ali: You obviously haven't seen me after I finish a book.

Lilly: That's different.

Lilly: She's got the weirdest fashion sense, one day she'll be wearing a miniskirt and scarf and the next day she'll be wearing leggings and a hoodie.

Ali: It's called 'Indecisive Chic', thank you very much.

Brittany: Otherwise known as you never decide what to wear until ten minutes before we have to leave.

Ali: Precisely.

Lexi: We all really love Ali, she's just an amazing person.

Ali: Aww, thanks guys.

Brittany: See you next week with the next edition of Family Thoughts!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Per usual, I took these about two weeks ago and never posted them.

That being said, I still really do like the photos.

Enjoy.

Definitely not my best ever, but I like the theme.

Audrey Hepburn is my favorite.

In which I get loads of scratches and also a mosquito bite

WOOOOOO GUESS WHO TOOK PICTURES TODAY?!

Me, that's who!

Where I usually go to take pictures is in these woods by my house, with lots of branches and bugs and general nature.

Now I love nature. I do. But I really don't like bugs.

So, I mostly spent the entire journey going:
"I am not a wimp. I am not a wimp. I am NOT a wimp."

And then I finished taking my pictures and booked it outta there.

But what do I always say after a bad photoshoot experiences?

"Well, at least the pictures turned out good."

And today was no exception.

That last one is bothering me so much but I'm too lazy to go fix in Picmonkey.

Anyway, changing topics, thanks twelve million to Adi for my new blog design! Isn't it perfect?! I really love it.

And one more thing, I'm going to be doing a Runaway Princess preimire party in a few months, so I would love it if you could comment some questions for the cast to answer! I'm going to have a page up soon, so unless you've got a burning question right now, you don't have to comment them on this post.

Just a heads up.

*twiddles thumbs*

Yep, I think that's all. Have a fabulous weekend, lovely people!

The Runaway Princess Season Finale

__________________________________________

I walked down the hallway silently, hoping no one would hear me. Suddenly, voices echoed from around the corner.

"I think the little sister is just adorable, she was so polite when I helped her with her bath."

"That may be, but she does seem rather quiet.

I had to hide before they saw me. I saw a door a few feet in front of me and dashed to it, praying that it wasn't locked.

Thankfully it was open, and I slipped inside in the nick of time.

I looked around at my hiding spot. It looked like a regular attic. But then I noticed the writing on the music book:

"Bridget Chase."

This room was filled with everything that used to be my sister's. It hadn't been enough for our parents to simply banish her, they had packed up her whole life, leaving no memory in the castle of the rebel princess.

Suddenly I noticed something in the corner.

"What's this?"

I picked it up the tattered notebook that was scrawled over with doodles. With a shock, I realized what it was: my sister's diary.

"Oh my gosh."

I sat down and flipped it open. One of the first entries stared up at me: my birthday.

April 11
Today Ali was born. I can't believe I finally have a baby sister! Mom and Dad say she's a miracle. Why I'm not a miracle, I don't know. I'm crown princesss, after all! Oh well. Anyway, Ali is perfect and super adorable. I'm so excited to teach her to ride horses, and climb trees. It's going to be the best fun ever!

I paged through the rest of entries, reading about Bridget's descent into isolation, and then the joy of her newfound love. From what the journal said, he seemed like a great guy.

Finally, in the back of the journal, I found a picture. It was of Bridget and me, when I was around two. I was grinning up at her while she guided me through the halls of the palace. We both looked so peaceful and content, that feeling descended on me, too.

I stood up. That picture had stirred something in me.

I was safe in my sister's house, free from the restrictions of the palace. I was fourteen, but I hadn't really lived at all.

It was time to discover who Ali was.

ONE YEAR

One year ago today, I started this blog.
I had been begging my parents for weeks to let me have one, and finally they consented.
I rushed to the computer and created a blog called ToDOLLy Awesome - my favorite name of all the ones I had brainstormed.

I fiddled with the design for ages, and then I typed out my very first post. I wasn't really sure what I was doing, and I worked on it forever. My mom kept telling me to go to bed, and I kept asking her for five more minutes. Five more minutes.

I went to bed that evening so excited I couldn't sleep. Visions of photoshoots, giveaways, and crafts danced in my head.
I rushed home from school the next day and posted my first pictures - awful, horrible, grainy shots taken with my phone. Then the next day I posted a dorm room tour. Then a photostory. And with each post, I gained a little more confidence.

My blog was originally really similar to Fun with AG Fan, but slowly I progressed from there. I ordered clothes from Etsy, figured out how to make my own headers, and thought of new post ideas. I found my blogging voice.

And now, one year and two dolls later, here I am.

Honestly, I can't say how much it means to me to be part of this community. I've become friends with some amazing people, and learned about the neatest stuff.

I mean, where would I be if I couldn't text Maddie about Percy Jackson, or fangirl with Shelby-Grace over Aspen Heights? If I couldn't talk about Taylor Swift with Hannah, or drool over Adi's photos? If I couldn't be friends with all of you?

Frankly I don't know.

So thank you for supporting me.

Thanks you for being there for me.

And when we get down to it, thanks for being todolly awesome.

Here's to another fabulous year.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I may have had slightly too much fun with the Polaroid backdrop I made, so here's some of the other pictures.

Nope. I didn't have too much fun at all.

*throws confetti*

Hola, folks! I've been away, but no more. And I've got tons of super exciting news.

First off...

I GOT A NEW CAMERA!!!

(this very tumblr photo was taken by my iphone. ironically.)

Anyway, it's a Samsung WB35F, and it's kind of amazing. I got it off of eBay for a really good price, and I'm basically just over the moon about it. I can't take pictures with it yet, though, cause it needs a specific memory card. And after buying the camera, I'm flat broke.

Say la vie.

Next up, my BLOGAVERSARY is next week! Holy heck, can you believe it? I can't. Anyway, I'm way excited and it will be a celebration like no other. If there's anything you want to see, then comment belooooow and tell me.

Now this last bit is bittersweet. Sadly, the Season Finale of Runaway Princess is next week. There will be a season two, so don't get your knickers in a twist. I'm planning on doing behind the scenes stuff and interviews in between seasons, so all will be okay.

I hope you lovelies have a fabulous weekend!
